Our beloved Donnetta Lerell Brown McCall was called home, on Friday, August 23, 2024. Donnetta was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina on June 15, 1947. She resided in many different cities like Boston, Denver, Albany and San Diego however Waco, Texas is where she graduated high school. She received a bachelor’s degree from Antioch College of Ohio. After accepting Jesus Christ as her personal lord and savior as a child, she spent her life in service to the Lord and her community. She cherished her time of praise, worship and fellowship with her brothers and sisters in Christ at Grace Bible Church. Donnetta started working at the tender age of 8 at a chicken farm but her most meaningful professional years were spent as an executive manager with AT&T and 20+ years in public service with Travis County and the City of Austin. After retiring from the Austin Police Department as one of the highest ranking civilian managers, she loved spending time with her friends, watching movies, attending church and donating to various causes, non-profits and ministries. Her most cherished time was spent with her daughters and grandchildren. She is preceded in death, mother Dolores Meyers Tucker; grandfather Leroy Myers, grandmother Corrine Sadie Foster her sister Vanessa McClinton, her daughter, Andrewnetta McCall Sierra; granddaughter, Enrica Michelle McCall Sierra; beloved grand-dog Cosmo Cornelius; and cherished friends she has missed dearly. Donnetta leaves to cherish loving memories of her, children Maria Michelle McCall Yeager and her husband David, Erinn Janine Smith and her husband Jason; grandchildren Natasha Anne Gordon, Enrique Jesus Andrew McCall Sierra, and Jack Logan Smith; great-grandson Scott Campbell; siblings Tracey Martin and Howard Morrison, Esq.; and many other loving family members and friends.
