Our beloved Sgt. Joaquin Lopez Perez Sr., was called home, on Thursday, September 21, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents; Andres Perez and Cruz Lopez Perez as well as 10 siblings. Joaquin is survived by his loving wife, of 57 beautiful years, Janie Hernandez Perez; their children, Joe Angel Perez (Mary Fabian), Jessica McCrary (Darwin McCary), James Perez and Joaquin Perez Jr.; 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild; his sister Cruz Benitez as well as numerous loving family members and friends. With love, the family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all who choose to attend, in person or virtually. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with the services beginning at 11:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Ln., Austin, Texas, 78752; Interment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542.
