Josie Banda Obituary (1946

Our beloved Josephina Contreras Banda, age 77, was called home on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023. She was born in Austin, Texas on July 7th, 1946. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dionicio Contreras and Severa Gamez Contreras. Josie is survived by her loving husband of 59 beautiful years, Onesimo Banda; her children, Jennifer Banda, El Campo TX, Cynthia Zajicek (Joe), Cedar Park TX; her grandchildren, Martin Blake Bustos, Liberty Hill TX, Alexis Bustos, Round Rock TX and great grandchildren, Christian Johnson, Cienna Johnson, Cade Haynes, Kira Haynes, as well as numerous loving family members and friends. Josie lived a very beautiful life at her dream location on Lake Travis, TX. She treasured her family and devoted her entire life to making sure that her Jennifer was cared for in the best way possible. Josie enjoyed traveling, taking care of her plants, taking boat rides with her husband, and relaxing at the Point Venture Park with her family. Her younger years included a very successful career in cosmetology and she owned her own business in Austin, TX. She was passionate about music and dancing with her husband and danced with him through her final year of life. The family would like to thank the staff at her final home at the Oasis on the Meadows, Leander, Texas, as well as the staff at Comforts of Home Healthcare. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 East Anderson Ln., Austin, Texas 78752.
